Our team supported 27,000 people in 2010/11 from centres across London, the South East and the East Midlands, delivering a wide range of back-to-work initiatives including New Deal and Flexible New Deal.

CDG is one of only two third sector prime providers in the UK delivering the Work Programme - the governments new back to work scheme.

We are current ly seeking an EmploymentCoach in ourBromley Centre.

CDG is looking for an excellent and inspiring employment coaches to help people improve their chances of finding work. This is through delivering training or motivation sessions as well as providing people with interview practice for specific roles and giving structure to how they get back onto the employment ladder.

Your previous experience of delivering training, presentations and interacting with people will equip you to support a wide range of people with a wide range of needs.

You must be an excellent and warm communicator, who understands and shares the values of the charity as well as being confident in front of people. You must also be able to demonstrate a proven ability to meet performance tar gets and manage your time effectively.

Job Title: Employment Coach

Reports to: Business Manager

Location: Centre based but may also provide employability sessions or job search in external venues

Purpose of the Role

To support customers on a one to one basis or within a group; offering training, advice, guidance and support on jobsearch and employability related subjects.

In some cases selected Employment Coaches will also support with ESOL and SfL; these will work across the area as opposed to being based in one centre.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Design, develop and deliver a range of group employability sessions to assist customers in their goal of achieving sustainable employment.

Offer one to one advice and support for individual customers as appropriate.

Manage and supervise the job search facility offering ad hoc support during customer drop ins and Job Clubs.

Support the design and delivery o f sector and employer specific pre-employment training in close cooperation with the Employer Relationship Manager.

Seek and respond to regular feedback from customers and employers to assess quality and effectiveness of job search, one-to-one support and employability training being delivered.

Ensure customer Action Plans and all other data entered onto MIS are accurate and up to date.

Promote and represent the programme and the organisation to employers, suppliers and partners at appropriate events, conferences, etc.

General

Be aware of health and safety issues and, within the area of control, implement CDGs health and safety policies to maintain a safe environment, complying with health and safety and other legal requirements.

Ensure that the work undertaken is conducted to the highest professional standards.

Promote and implement all of CDGs policies and procedures.

Uphold and promote CDGs Equality of Opportunity and Diversity Policy in all aspects of the work and ensure they are understood and implemented.

Promote the culture and ethos of CDG.

Promote the CDG values of customer focus, innovation, integrity, people and performance.

Be aware of, promote and implement CDGs Quality and Information Security Management Systems.

To report to Line manager, or other appropriate person, in the event of awareness of bad practice.

Recycle and manage energy within your work environment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Relevant teaching or training delivery qualification is desirable e.g. PTLLS.

Desirable

For those teaching ESOL/SfL a DTLLS qualification is desirable.

Experience

Essential

Demonstrable experience of delivering employ ment focused training and support.

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of the local labour market and local disadvantaged groups.
Understanding of employer expectations and career opportunities.

Desirable

Knowledge of benefit system and welfare to work programmes.

Skills

Essential

Ability to meet performance targets.
Ability to coach and support customers.
Good organisational skills and time management.
A motivational, flexible and problem solving approach.
Excellent presentation and communication skills at all levels, verbal and written.
Good IT skills.
