Project Manager, Financial Services / Banking,London

Our FTSE 100 Financial Services client currently seeks and experienced Project Manager for their offices based in London. The project delivery team facilitates and leads the delivery of a broad range of business led projects that develop new products and services or operational improvements throughout our clients business. Reporting to the Programme Manager you will act as key project manager and deliver small, medium and large scale projects that fall within this central team remit.

This is a business critical role requiring the successful candidate to be commercially astute, have gravitas and the ability to deliver projects on time and to budget.

Responsibilities:

Management and delivery of a wide variety of business led projects using agreed project management methods, ensuring they are fully completed in line with business requirements and quality expectations, on time and within budget.Management of a portfolio of small projects/initiatives with matrix management responsibilities within an overall large programme structureProduce and maintain project, resource and quality plans, track risks, issues and actions to ensure project objectives are met. Manage risks and issues effectively and play a pro-active part in problem resolution.Effective management and reporting of all project stages to provide structure and control throughout project lifecycle including management of entry / exit criteria for each stage.Provide leadership to project team to ensure work is progressed to meet agreed requirements and quality criteria in line with project plan.Manage Product delivery (e.g. business case, requirements, specifications, test plans implementation plans, user procedures).Communicate project progress, risks and issues to business and IT managers and senior stakeholders.Implementation and release management to ensure smooth transition to live operation and handover to business and IT operational teams.Manage relationships and ensure effective communication between project participants and maintain good working relationships with all delivery teams and project stakeholders including internal IT delivery teams, external suppliers, test teams, operational teams and external clients

The ideal project manager must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Minimum of 5 years in a project management working within a business environmentA background working within a Financial Services environmentExperience of a formal project management methodolog y for example Prince 2Good understanding of project management principles planning, tracking, risk management and issue management reporting etcSolid experience delivering projects on time and to budgetExperience using various Financial Systems, Database applications, and a good working knowledge of MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel and OutlookExperience of some or all of the following highly advantageous: Registration Systems, Collectives, Transfer Agency, Share Administration / Registration, Equities and Insurance SystemsExcellent English communication skills both written and oral

Remuneration:

Salary: 45,000
