An important and challenging position is offered within the IT service support organization for OSyS, providing IT maintenance services and support internally to Rolls-Royce and externally to a large number of high profile customers.

The Role

This support role involves ensuring that the numerous client-server and internet based, business critical applications, servers and databases, are functional, secure and meet the business needs.

This hands-on position would suit a well rounded, self-motivated individual who has the ability to work in a busy high-tech environment in an applications systems support role.

Role and Responsibilities

Support and maintenance of a wide range of bespoke 'in-house' critical IT systems which are delivered to a variety of internal and external c ustomersProactive system monitoring and configuration of alertingPerformance improvements & system tuning2nd Line Incident & Problem resolutionInput in to capacity planningLiaise with various business functions in a range of global locationsIdentify and manage system change using the change control processProduce regular reports relating to service KPI'sAssist with infrastructure analysis & design activitiesInput in to configuration managementReview and author knowledge base articles for use by internal support teamsContribute to a 24x7 support rotaPlay a role in improving processes

Skills and Experience

Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 serverExperience of using Database Services (i.e. MS SQL and Oracle)Fluent in basic SQL commandsIIS and general web hosting skillsMS SharePointMicrosoft OfficeMinimum of 2 years experience in an IT support role

Education / Training
