The IFRS Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit private sector organisation working in the public interest. The Foundation's principal objective is to develop a single set of high quality, understandable, enforceable and globally accepted financial reporting standards (IFRSs) through its standard-setting body, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). The Technical staff develop IFRSs for the IASB. The staff work within teams, each of which focuses on a specific group of technical projects.
What we are looking for
Technical Managers work within a technical tea m and are responsible for the delivery of a large project or group of smaller projects, focusing primarily on the technical aspects:Preparing and reviewing technical documents and other related documents.Managing and undertaking research on challenging areas of accounting.Developing proposals for consideration by IASB members.Presenting recommendations at meetings.Engaging with constituents and managing expert advisory groups.Supervising the work of team members.
However Technical Managers are also expected to understand the wider set of risks to the project/s, including political issues.
What you will need
Experience and qualifications:
Business related degree. Masters degree or accountancy/CFA qualification.Experience of applying or interpreting IFRS or National GAAP.Experience in a financial reporting or accounting policy unit (or similar).Experience of technical accounting research, analysis and repor t writing.Experience of accounting, economics, finance, investment/banking, academia or standard setting or regulation.Skills and attributes:
Good standard of written and oral English and the ability to write clearly and concisely.Ability to demonstrate conceptual thinking by articulating the advantages and disadvantages of a particular standpoint or of different standpoints on a particular issue.Well-developed technical knowledge and analytical and research skills to prepare papers on a range of technical subjects.Ability to present effectively at meetings and to lead meetings.Strong team ethic and ability to work effectively with other people. Ability to deal effectively and efficiently with more than one project concurrently.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Commitment to the objectives and processes of the IASB and to the ideals of standard-setting in the public interest.How to apply
