Aircraft Structure Design Engineer - Lightning Protection Certificate

Aeroconseil UK is the British branch of AKKA Technologies.
With a view to developing our customer base, Aeroconseil is now recruiting for an Aircraft Structure Design Engineer for Lightning Protection Certification.
Type of position: Permanent
Profile: Experienced Engineer (3 years) or graduate (6 months) with an Engineering degree or equivalent experience. The suitable candidate must have experience of working on aeronautical projects, excellent spoken and written English, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work transnationally (UK, France and Spain).
Main Responsibilities:
Work within a transnational project group with 10 other engineers on Lightning Direct Effects and Electrostatic Discharges protection on aircrafts for our clients, the engineer will be responsible for:
Justification and validation of the principles and solutions adopted to achieve the adequate LDE & SESD protection performance for the structural parts and interfaces according to customers requirements and international regulations.
Justification and validation of the electrical bonding concept, electrostatic and lightning protection of the systems.
Coordination of test campaigns. Definition of samples to be tested, redaction of test requests, witnessing of tests, inspections of the samples and redaction of test reports with interpretations.
Production and update of the technical documentation necessary to support the development as well as the validation and the certification activities (technical memos, documents of concept, documents of certification, etc).
Acting as the interface of the customers accountable person to report the main technical achievements and define the way forwards.
Supporting the team members and/or the customers for solving technical issues or discussion with designers, suppliers, airworthiness authorities etc.
Technical knowledge:
Experience or knowledge in one of the following fields:
Design of composite structural parts, in particular fuel tanks.
Fuel system installation in composite structure.
Lightning and electrostatic issues for aircraft vehicles.
Lightning testing in laboratories.
Personal skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to develop excellent relationships with the customer.
Interested in solving technical and industrial issues.
Capacity to summarize and convince.
Good understanding of aircraft development and certification processes.
An excellent command of spoken and written English is essential in this role.
