The Role
We are looking for a 2nd line Desktop Support engineer for a multi skilled IT professional environment, based in Birmingham, supporting multiple sites throughout the UK. You will have proven track record of providing 2nd line IT support with the ability to integrate tightly within a support team and demonstrate keen troubleshooting skills, effectively bringing a reported issue to resolution.
Key Experience Required
You will have had a number of years' experience in a 2nd line desktop support role with strong knowledge of XP, Windows 7 and MS Office. Ideally you will also have experience of working within a Citrix client environment and will have good knowledge of remote support software.
You will also be expected to have knowledge of networking and the basic functioning of LANs/WANs.
You will need to demonstrate that you are self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
One week in seven/eight you will be expected to take part in the out of hours rota covering evenings and weekends - An additional payment is made for this week of 600. Normally on the same week you will also be given the pool car to attend to problems within sites outside of the head office during your normal working day so a full clean driving license will also be required.
