Regional Commercial Manager, based in Cardiff, salary from 50000 to 60000 pa

Key Accountabilities:-

* To manage tender terms and conditions, reviews and to identify and negotiate out any adverse terms. To bring to the attention of the Commercial Director any such terms that remains out with company policy.
* To undertake tender approval/adjudication to the agreed level of authority in conjunction with the Regional Director.
* To develop and lead a Commercial Team and to allocate resources to meet the Regions needs. Conduct appraisals, identifying necessary training and development needs of the region.
* To seek and employ best practice.
* To participate as a key member of the Company Commercial Management Team.
* Ensure compliance with Company Commercial procedures
* Manage CRS procedures in conjunction with the Regional Director. To challenge the integrity of the information given.
* To review with the Regional Director, the production of management accounts, profit and workload information and take lead responsibility for the collection of cash within the Region.
* Notify the Commercial Director & Regional Director of any instance where the Region receives formal notice of Adjudication, Arbitration, Litigation or the like, and establish an appropriate strategy and response.
* Notify the Commercial Director of any letters of intent received or issued by the Region identifying any associated risk.
* In conjunction with the Regional Director, review sub-contract orders to be placed to the level of authority.
* To review the levels of competence of all commercial staff within the region and with the Commercial Director's approval, impose restricted or delegated authority as necessary.

Person Specification:

* Graduate calibre, ideally from a Quantity Surveying background, with experience of contract terms and conditions review and risk mitigation.
* Clear understanding of business processes and procedures.
* Tough when needed with the ability to achieve results by working with, supporting and developing people.
* A team player who uses the ability to identify faults or problems in a proactive and constructive way.
* Good industry connections to customers and competitors
* Recognise and proactively act on business opportunities
* Can demonstrate effective communication skills
* Able to effectively facilitate a team and encourage participation from all
* Able to objectively set, review and meet targets
* Leads by example, demonstrates trust in the team
