Evening/Sleep-In Support Worker - 7 per hour 5.30-10.30 pm.

A rate of 25 - 10.30 pm to 9 am (sleep-in and dealing with emergencies)

This is a fulfilling and rewarding role based within a womens refuge in Southend in Essex.

You will work as part of a close knit team, on a rota basis and manage the emergency line between the hours of 5 pm and 9 am.

The purpose of the role is to offer telephone support to women accessing the emergency line and also to assist women to access support services most appropriate to their needs.

You will play a vital role in helping to change the lives of vulnerable people who need our services.

The work includes bringing families into refuge accommodation whilst supporting families already living there. You will therefore need to have previous experience of working with vulnerable people/victims of domestic violence, be able to adhere to policies and procedures and liaise with external agencies as and when required.

The successful applicant for this role will need to act professionally, taking into account confidentiality at all times and be capable of creating and maintaining records to a high standard. You will also need to be discreet and have the ability to to effectively communicate and build relationships with clients, colleagues and partnership organisations alike.
