Background
Ground Control is an award-winning commercial landscaping company (14 BALI awards). The company has grown by over 20 every year for nine years running. Turnover now exceeds 40 million annually. Ground Control focuses almost exclusively on national contracts with multi-site operators and currently maintains over 20,000 sites for some of the country's largest retailers, utility companies and local authorities. This highly entrepreneurial business has three major components: Commercial Landscape & Grounds Maintenance, Winter Maintenance and Landscape Construction.
Ground Control will be integrating 158 new employees through TUPE as part of a strategic acquisition and requires a dynamic and highly commercial HR Manager to join the team based in our head office in Billericay, Essex.
Role and Responsibilities
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing all the HR functions within the department. Joining our dynamic team, he or she will help manage the administration of all people related matters such as:
recruitmentreward and recognitionsuccession planningtraining and developmentattendance managementcompensation and benefitsemployment lawemployee relationsorganisational developmentperformance managementThe HR objectives are originated and led by the Board of Directors. These HR objectives should result in an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes outstanding customer service, quality, high standards, productivity and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Background
The candidate will ideally have had some, but not necessarily all, of the following experiences before joining:
At least five years experience in HR management
A professional and commercial approach to HR, with the ability to deliver high employee satisfaction, appropriate development and rewards for individuals
Experience of supervising or managing a team
A CIPD qualification (or working towards one)
Further education (A levels or University degree)
