Gen-Probe has a brand new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Wythenshawe, south Manchester, and we currently have a vacancy for Quality Control Analyst, Microbiology.

Quality Control Analysts are responsible for performing all environmental monitoring to facilitate the release of Gen-Probes HPV and Aptima products. You will be required to perform prescribed procedures, sample collections, stability and performance testing of the in house purifiedwater system and clean rooms to support product release and for analytical/inspection of semi-finished reagents, in line with cGMP/ISO requirements.

The successful candidates will have proven skills and experience in the following areas:

Excellent analytical skills;

Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision, managing a complex and varied workload;

Experience of Environmental monitoring of clean room facilities

Experience of Growth promotion/sterility testing of media and reagents

Experience of GMP/GLP laboratories

Working effectively as an individual and as part of a team

2-3 years experience in a similar field

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Environmental monitoring of clean room facilities to facilitate product release

Undertaking of routine checks and maintenance of environmental control systems

Performing prescribed procedures, sample collections, stability and performance testing

Performing growth promotion/sterility testing of media and reagents.

Participating in validation studies

Assisting in developing lab documents to support lab compliance with GMP/GLP

Assisting in the preparation of environmental reports

Assisting in developing and implementing environmental strategies and action plans to ensure corporate sustainable development

Analysing and interpreting data in order to draw out key performance information and trends

Monitoring bioburden level of in house purified water system
