JOB TITLE:Registered General Nurse

DEPARTMENT:Care Services

REPORTING TO:Care Home Manager

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To work as part of a team in the capacity as team leader, to ensure residents receive the highest quality of care.To ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that individual care planning reflects the homes commitment to excellence of care. To ensure that procedures are observed and Clinical Management service is provided.

Education, Training and Qualifications

RGN Qualification/RMN Qualification

Registered to Nursing & Midwifery council

Current Pin number

Good general secondary education to GCSE or equivalent is desirable

Experience and Job Related Knowledge

Previous experience working as a Nurse is essential

Previous supervisory and/or management experience is essential

Knowledge of health, safety and welfare

Experience of administrating drugs

Maintain a wide knowledge of current nursing practices

Attend mandatory training sessions

Assess own learning needs and accept responsibility for continuing education

Abilities and Aptitudes

Excellent written and verbal communication skills ie must be able to complete detailed resident care plans.

Excellent organisational skills

Must be flexible

Must be able to prioritise

Ability to work as part of team and on own initiative ie operating and leading a shift in absence of care home Manager
