Site Engineering Manager Manchester

This is a great time to join an organisation on track for our 8th year of top and bottom line growth. We are looking for a Site Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering Team and drive the Engineering function forwards at the Manchester site.
Reporting to the Factory General Manager and a member of the site's leadership team, you will have overall responsibility for operational, services and project engineering.

Areas of focus will be:

Leadership; Communication & Influencing; Maintaining Customer Focus; ImprovingStandards, Delivering change through good working relationships with the Trade Union

Responsibilities include:

Ensuring services and projects are safe, efficient and meet business requirementsCustodianship of engineering standards for the whole site.Budget management of capital projects and overheads.Overall asset OEE improvement through reduction of machine downtime and optimisation of performance via best application of systems and the utilisation of the operational engineering team.Development and execution of the engineering strategy and continuous improvement vision.Work collaboratively with Trade Union Representatives to effectively manage change and modernisation across the functionEnsuring a structured and systematic approach to capital projects, ensuring best value for UB to the required specification and completed to the agreed timeline.Project management and managing a team of project engineers will be a key part of the role.

To apply, you will need to have the following skills and experience:

Substantial previous experience at Engineering Manager level or equivalent.Able to manage multi disciplinary teams.Able to lead, motivate, inspire, coach and develop others.Able to develop and build effective working relationships with your colleagues, direct reports, and the Central Engineering function.Successful implementation of Lean manufacturing techniques.A track record of change engagement within a unionised environment.Excellent project management experience.Commercial awareness and experience of managing budgets.Be degree qualified or equivalent (preferred but not essential.)
