Overall Purpose of Post
With pupil results improving across all key stages, we are looking for an excellent practitioner and inspired leader with outstanding management skills to take over a very successful Maths department. You must be committed to ensuring success for all students as you will be a key player in offering very popular and expanding courses at Advanced Levels. This is an opportunity to develop leadership skills in preparation for future advancement.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Responsible for Heads of Faculty, Subject Leaders, teaching staff and other relevant personnel within the curriculum area. To raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the curriculum area. To contribute actively to the whole school ethos and policies. To take a lead role in whole school teaching and learning activities. Contribute to the development of teachers within school. Sharing good practice and developing expertise; Assist and support the recruitment and performance management process Improve teaching quality within curriculum Provide an exemplary role model for staff through their professional expertise; and have a distinctive role in achieving improvements in teaching across the school.

Knowledge - Essential/Desirable
Outstanding subject knowledge within Maths/ICT Possess excellent student behaviour management

Qualifications - Essential/Desirable
Must hold a PGCE or studying towards a teaching qualification (NQT) A degree or equivalent in the relevant subject area
