LOCATION

London, but flexibility required to travel to National showroom locations and supplier factories (Overseas)

PURPOSE

To ensure the company has exceptional product and supplier performance by working closely with suppliers on improving C P Harts ranges, supplier service levels and profitability performance

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Experience in a buying role within a retail environment is essential. Industry knowledge preferable but not essentialGood practical knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Work and Power PointAnalytical and accounta ncy skills capable of creating, viewing and analysing statistical data

A commercial focus on range development with technical knowledge would be an advantage

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

To assist in the purchasing responsibility for circa 20 of company's current spend

oImplement objectives to increase margin and product performance (range/stock profiling, exit plans, price reviews, working with QA on improving quality)

oImplement plans to reduce the number of suppliers and products within each range with the aim of improving overall performance and turnover

To assume full responsibility for all selected suppliers product performance and negotiations.

To assist in new product development including:

oSample testing and product approva l, liaising on production schedules and managing critical paths

oSupporting new product launches with internal marketing communication, training packages, literature distribution

Assist in the development of merchandising plans in existing and new showrooms

Assist in product pricing strategies on a quarterly basis by reviewing the industrys product offering, promotional and pricing strategies
