Our client, a prestigious international retailer is currently looking for a permanent HR Officer / HR Generalist to work within their busy London Head Office. The main purpose of this HR Officer role is to provide generalist HR Support for all UK stores, branches and workplace sites.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a minimum of 2 years HR Officer / HR Generalist experience, and who has worked in a retail or a similar customer service based environment before. The role would be suitable for an individual who enjoys a variety of HR responsibilities and would thrive in an extremely fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate will be articulate, enthusiastic, have a flexible attitude and the ability to show initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

HR Officer Duties:

Employee relations

Deal with all employee grievances and performance issuesAct in an advisory capacity and attend employee relations meetings with line managers Write invitation letters, and outcome letters for grievance hearings / disciplinary hearingsSome travel to UK stores, branches to address performance issues / grievance issues

Recruitment

Responsible for staff recruitment for supervisory and senior rolesResponsible for staff recruitment in Head OfficeHelp with in-store, customer service staff recruitment during rush periods, e.g. Christmas

Policy

Update Company policies accordingly due to internal changes or legislative changesProactively keep abreast of new changes to employment law that will affect the Company

Training

Deliver training for HR proc edures, such as absence management and recruitment training Update the online training tool as and when needed

Ad hoc Projects

Run annual employee surveysOrganise and facilitate quarterly focus groups on various topics and feedback to senior management. Assist with various promotions and projects that may require HR input
