Springer, a leading scientific publisher are looking to recruit a Lead Front End Web Developer to join our London based software development team working on Springer's portfolio of websites.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about creating professional websites and will have a great deal of experience building website front ends usin g HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Design skills, User Interaction engineering and an eye for detail are also important to be able to translate design layoutsinto proper mark-up.

Main Duties:

The successful applicant will join a newly formed team tasked with creating innovate new web projects and as the Lead Front End developer will have an important role in shaping the User Interface of our products.

Person Specification

Essential

Commercial experience in JavaScriptCommercial experience in CSSCommercial experience in HTML (including HTML5 and XHTML)Commercial experience in Browser standardsCommercial experience in SEOCommercial experience with Java Template Engines / JSP-Programming / JSTLCommercial experience in Adobe Photoshop/Fireworks or other design packagesDegree educated or equivalent experience

Desirable

Experience in Agile software development methodologies Experience in leading a project or a team
