Summary
Our client is a leading, international business-to-business media company.In 2006 the group acquired what is now the UKs leading publisher and events organiser for healthcare professionals working in diabetes and related conditions. They are a dynamic publishing and events team, with 20 staff members.
They are seeking a highly organised person to join their events team to organise conferences, workshops, symposia and exhibitions.
Company Background
This is a hugely successful company, who now publish 11 journals, 40 books and organise over 140 events for healthcare professionals across Europe. They stage up to 100 events a year in the UK, ranging from large 2 day conferences for up to 700 people, several series of roadshows for 20-50 people, webcasts, exhibitions, round table meetings, advisory boards and committee meetings.
Role Responsibilities
The role will include:
Over all project management of events and client management
Direct line management for events Manager
Budget management
Marketing
Venue searching and negotiation
Liaising with speakers to organise travel, accommodation etc.
Programme planning in conjunction with our editorial team and healthcare professionals
Liaising with exhibitors and sponsors
Logistic Management both pre and on-site
General ad hoc duties that may arise with specific events
Skills required
The successful candid ate will have an ability to work on multiple projects, from conception to completion and communicate effectively with all members of staff. They should have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise, be flexible and capable of adapting to revised priorities. They should be able and willing to take on responsibilities and use their own initiative to work independently.Some UK based travelling is required throughout the year. They will be a team player and confident communicating with people at all levels. They will be computer literate and have experience of using databases, Microsoft office especially excel and power point.
A minimum of 3-5 years experience of organising pharma / healthcare related events is essential along with experience in organising conferences and exhibitions within the pharmaceutical industry.
