Various Community venues throughout Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire

About the Job

As a WEA tutor you will plan, develop, deliver and evaluate courses and learning programmes in accordance with learner needs and WEA quality procedures in support of delivering high quality learning. You will support learners by assessing previous learning experience and providing them with the appropriate advice and guidance, ensuring that they are aware of progression routes.

About the RES (Regional Essential Skills Project)

The Regional Essential Skills project is an ESF funded project. Participants will gain essential skills qualifications in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT helping them to compete effectively in the higher skills economy predicted by the Welsh Government and providing opportunities for employees who are unable to access provision via the Employer Pledge programme. The Regional Essential Skills project will be delivered in community venues.

About you

You will have had previous teaching experience, preferably within Adult or Community Education. You will have a teaching qualification at a minimum of level 3 in accordance with sector standards. You will have well developed communication and interpersonal skills and have the capacity to engage with and motivate non traditional learners with the ability to meet differentiated learning needs. Previous experience of teaching within community venues is preferred. It is desirable to possess a level 3 or 5 Essential Skills subject specialism qualification.

Please note that this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore an enhanced CRB disclosure will be required.
