We have a new vacancy at Kemsley Paper Mill for a Mechanical Support Engineer. This role will report into the Mill Engineering Manager and support the Area Engineering Teams with in depth trade knowledge across the whole mill as dictated by the issues and priorities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Be responsible for critical or complex problems across the Mill within the Mechanical trade, using experience and fault diagnosis skills to bring issues to a swift conclusion enabling efficient production to be maintained.Be a technical expert supporting the Area Engineering Managers in making engineering decisions within your area of expertise. Interpret discipline specific information and provide explanations of impact to the Area Engineer Manager.Report outcomes of your investigations to Area Engineering Managers for onward communication or attend area morning meetings as required to report on the priority issues and outcomes.Participate in root cause analysis as required, identify actions, improvement opportunities to prevent re-occurrence and implement those actions or direct them through the appropriate person.To succeed, you are likely to:
Have a recognised Mechanical qualification, the minimum requirement is an Engineering Apprenticeship, a HND would be an advantage.Be experienced in using best practice standards, practices and processes in precision maintenance.Have maintenance experience in a heavy industrial process manufacturing environment, preferably in a paper mill environment.Have maintenance experience at a supervisory or technical expert level in process manufacturing, paper mill experience an advantage.Be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills in identifying faults, rectifying root causes and have advanced knowledge of equipment maintenance.Be self motivated and promote continuous improvement.
