Project Design Engineer Crossways, Dartford

At Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions we are looking for a project design engineer to work with us at our cabling systems design office based in Dartford.

You will develop the specification and design of super tension, high voltage cable system projects for some of our major clients. The projects that you work on will be put into action by Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions within the UK and overseas.

About the job You'll work with the project design team to plan the design of high voltage and extra high voltage power cable systems, come up with cost estimates of proposed systems and following receipt of an order carry out the contract engineering. You will also work on other mechanical, civil and electrical engineering problems related to the projects that you are working on.

What youll need

As the project design engineer you will take a lead role on some high profile projects with some of our biggest clients such as National Grid so experience in a similar role would be beneficial. We also require you to have a degree in electrical engineering or a similar subject.

Youll have knowledge and experience working with extra high voltage (33kV to 400kV) systems and substation designs being able to interpret engineering drawings and circuits is essential. You will also be accurate, methodical and precise in the way you work.
