Food Contact Assistant

As a Food Contact Assistant at AkzoNobel you will play an important role supporting global operations on European Food Contact Legislation issues as well as be involved in food contact compliance activities. A member of the R&D team you will assess raw materials by reviewing Product Regulatory Status Questionnaires, liaising with suppliers for data, tracking responses as well as filing and interpreting results. In addition to maintaining a variety of databases you will review and compare data from test houses and internal analysis identifying strengths & weaknesses to ensure we maximise the quality of our offering to customers. You will also assist in the delivery specific projects for the business as well as help develop global procedures to make sure we continue to enhance our reputation in the packaging sector.

With a Bsc in chemistry or other relevant subject you will have experience in the Chemical/Coatings industry &/or in regulatory compliance (preferably covering raw materials). Knowledge of the European legislation such as The Framework Regulation, CEPE Coatings Code of Practice, Council of Europe Resolutions and Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (+amendments) would be an advantage. Highly organised you are able to take the initiative when needed, have good pc skills and are comfortable manipulating database information.
