Gen-Probe has a brand new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Wythenshawe, south Manchester, and we have a number of vacancies for Manufacturing Technicians.

Manufacturing Process Technicians are responsible for manufacturing and dispensing diagnostic reagents in a laboratory environment. You will be responsible for accurately completing manufacturing records to support release of product. You will ensure that all laboratory safety practices are followed and responsible for training new personnel.

The successful candidates will have proven skill and experience as follows:

Recent laboratory-based experience, including procedures, techniques, instruments and equipment

Demonstrated knowledge of general laboratory safety and record keeping

Proven experience of working within current GMP / ISO regulations and Good Laboratory safety practices

MS office application knowledge

SAP experience is desirable but not essential

You may have previous experience in the following roles: Scientist; Technical Assistant; Laboratory Assistant; Analyst; Production Scientist; Production Technician; Manufacturing Engineer; Process Chemist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining the laboratory environment in one functional area.

Performing or verifying daily, weekly and monthly cleaning procedures.

Formulating in-process solutions and bulk reagents.

Maintaining laboratory and laboratory stock.

Performing general lab audits.

Opening and closing work orders; removing items from inventory

Assisting in the preparation of device master records and SOPs

Training new lab personnel

Formulating subassembly solutions and reagent bulks.

Responsible for transporting, handling, and disposing of chemicals and human serum.

Performing operation/calibration of all general lab equipment.
