An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a UK for a Strategic Account Manager based in Manchester. You will be part of the Senior Commercial Team and work with other Managers, to plan and to manage the development of existing and new key / contracted customers.

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:
Identify and win new 1 to 3 year contracts inline with individual targets and company strategies
Source, develop, and deliver new contracted business inline with all revenue targets and business objectives
Develop allocated existing key accounts / contracts to achieve maximum potential through key relationship management and excellent customer service
Present solutions at Board Level, negotiating opportunities to successful conclusion within agreed profit margins
Participate in the monthly Strategic Account Management meetings
Developing specialised and bespoke supply chain solutions & / or products in conjunction with operations
Manage the complete sales cycle and pipeline opportunities, ensuring the system is populated with critical and accurate information
Prepare proposals and respond to RFIs / RFQs in a timely fashion
Produce and implement Key Account plans to include an overall growth strategy, annual sales plan and sales budget
Work with Operations and other departments to develop customer solutions and to deliver excellent customer service
Work with customers and in conjunction with internal operations to ensure timely implementation of new business
Organise and attend a minimum of 3 customer visits per week, ensuring all visit reports and the sales pipeline are fully documented.
Put together sales meeting presentations demonstrating case-studies/achievements to share with the sales team when required to do so

The successful candidate will have:
Demonstrable experience in a similar role
Proven track record in selling international full load or groupage transport concentrating on larger contractual deals
Good communication skills both oral and written
Strong knowledge of European road / rail / short-sea modes of transport
Proven experience of winning larger import & export contracts a regular basis, including setting up service level agreements
The instinct to take responsibility/ownership of issues
A team player approach able to build relationships with operational colleagues
Ability to produce real and convincing sales plans
