Swim Professionals are looking to recruit a Copywriter - Web Migration to the IT team based in Newham
This is a 3 months role paying up to 18 per hour

Assist council services to review, edit and create new content so that Newham.gov.uk may be migrated from its existing CMS platform to SharePoint 2010.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

Key tasks and accountabilities are intended to be a guide to the range and level of work expected of the post holder. This is not an exhaustive list of all tasks that may fall to the post holder and employees will be expected to carry out such other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.

To undertake all responsibilities listed below:

1. To work with services to identify and organise content so it complies with the recommended Local Government Service List and Navigation List structure.

2. To produce factually, accurate and engaging written copy, using plain English and following the council's style guide.

3. To migrate the content onto the SharePoint Content Management platform and format it in a style that follows the council's style guide.

4. To source and edit appropriate images for the site, which accurately reflect the subject matter and are in line with corporate standards.

5. To maintain accurate records of all projects undertaken.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

* An understanding of legal issues, such as copyright, privacy and website accessibility.
* An understanding of online writing procedures, such as house style, content structure and Search Engine Optimisation.
* An understanding of Local Government.
* An understanding of Project Management principles/methodologies (Prince II)
* Experience as a web writer with proven SEO insight.
* A demonstrable track record or suitable understanding of websites and content in Local Government.
* Experience of using content management systems. Desirable experience of using SharePoint 2010.
* Experience of proof reading and quality checking own work.
* Previous experience of content migration to a new website platform.
* Detailed knowledge of current web presentation techniques and tools.
* Excellent research and writing skills.
* Ability to manage a large inventory of content.
* Ability to pick out key points from detailed information.
* Ability to write in a clear, concise and engaging way for the target audience.
* An excellent understanding of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
* Creative skills to find interesting ways of pre senting information.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, for example for proofreading.
* The ability to foster relationships with clients (Council Services)
* Well developed problem solving and evaluation skills.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Confident, ambitious and energetic
* Strong team player
* Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
* Self-motivated
* Creative
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* A degree or equivalent qualification in English, Journalism or a Communications discipline
