About You
We are seeking an End User Computing Architect leadwith experience in designing and supporting architecture of Enterprise- class virtualised infrastructure and end user computing s ystems.Responsibilities will span the entire pre-sales and architecture lifecycle with a focus on design work and building a trusted advisor relationship with customers.
As the End User Computing Architect you will provide technical leadership and class leading solutions for virtualisation, end user computing, application virtualisation and supporting initiatives. Coordinating technology with other architectural teams, i.e. storage, network, server, etc. to design, build and deploy complete solutions. You will work closely with the business to ensure business requirements are closely aligned with the technical solutions.
Specific responsibilities include:
Architect and design virtualisation solutions that meet business requirements.Coordinate and collaborate with other technical architecture and engineering teams.Assist in defining strategic technology direction and solutions, providing input in selecting technology suppliers and partners.Evaluate industry bes t practices and develop technology roadmaps.Establish strong relationships with key technology suppliers to ensure successful project implementations, address any technical issues and to influence the development of future capabilities.Prepare design documentation including reference architectures, detailed design diagrams, design assumptions and considerations, etc. Conduct stakeholder and customer presentations, product demonstrations and technical support as needed.Technical input into bid documentation, RFIs, RFPs, with overall responsibility for the content, particularly the technical and solution design sections.Attend prospect meetings where appropriate remitto build Blocks technical credibility across all levels within the customer and become seen as a Trusted Advisor.Leadership and individual contributor roles during the design and of solutions (role will vary depending on size and complexity of project).Ensure ongoing certification according to assigned roles withi n Blocks vendor accreditation programmes.Thought leadership within Blocks engineering, sales and marketing community (within sphere of expertise).Essentials Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 years of IT experience including technical architecture design and implementation experience.Minimum 2 years of consultancy experience with a reseller or service provider providing desktop virtualisation technologies including VMWare View, ThinApp, Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, Appsense, App-V.Minimum 2 years of experience with Active Directory, GPO configurations and management. Minimum 2 years of experience with Wintel Architecture, MS Windows Server 2003/2008, MS Windows 7, MS Office 2010.Ability to conduct assessments and provide gap analysisAbility to architect enterprise infrastructure, application and desktop virtualisation solutions.Excellent command of English, written and verbal.Desired Skills and Experience:
VCP, VTSP, VMWare View, ThinApp, Citrix, XenDesktop certific ations.Knowledge of AppSense, RES, Liquidware, AppDNA, Centrix or similar.Knowledge of EMC, HP, NetApp, CISCO, Microsoft virtualisation hardware/software solutions.Experience with Profile Management, User Environment Management solutions.Experience with scripting tools including VB script, powershell, batch scripting.
