The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced conference marketer to join a rapidly expanding business. As a Senior Marketing Manager working on the conference portfolio, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation and execution of innovative international campaigns, deploying online and offline direct marketing campaigns. You have experience in creating and delivering targeted, innovative strategies that show a clear return on investment. This role needs a pragmatic, dynamic and creative individual with excellent communication skills.

Specifically, the role involves:

Conducting detailed response analysis and formulating targeted marketing strategies

Creating and executing i nnovative integrated marketing plans to promote international conferencesResponsibility for marketing budgets and all marketing campaign financials

Forging long-term marketing partnerships with associations and publications

Using a full range of online marketing tactics, including social media, online PR & SEO

Managing and developing the websites and other new media opportunities

Moving customers up the advocacy ladder and engaging with them using interactive and content led marketing techniques

Establishment of effective working relationships with speakers and sponsors to gain their buy in to promote our events through podcasts, webinars and webcasts Data management: managing internal data processes, list build strategies and sourcing new and innovative data

Formulating communications strategies, including writing of promotional copy

Establishing close working relationships with vendors

Working closely with other internal departments to achieve project objectives

Hitting agreed targets for direct revenue generation and lead generation whilst controlling the event marketing budget

Assisting in the developing and implementing marketing strategies to meet agreed event strategic objectives

Evaluating customer research, market conditions, competitor data and produce an effective and engaging marketing plan

Overseeing multi-channel online and offline marketing activities to achieve frequent, timely and effective event promotion and measure campaign effectiveness

Required skills and competencies

Educated to degree level 2:1 or equivalent

Proven track record in marketing, 2+ years experience, ideally gained within b2b publishing, conferences or exhibitions

Foreign languages and knowledge of international markets an advantage

Except ional interpersonal skills and a true team-player

Excellent communicator, verbal and written

Creative problem-solver, effective decision maker

Outstanding time management skills and ability to prioritise a workload

Ability to work independently under tight deadlines within budget

A good understanding of web based marketing and databases

Self-driven, results-oriented, with a positive outlook

Keen for new experiences, responsibility and accountability
