The role is within a very nice company where there is a lot of teamwork. The company is part of a group and there are many staff benefits. There is free parking on site and also you get discounted products.

The right person for this role will have some buying experience and will also be someone who is IT literate so that they are able to update details to the website. We are expecting you to have high attention to detail and with good numeracy and literacy.

The successful applicant will:

Attend trade shows

Liaise with Suppliers, directly or via sales agents in order to source new products or re-order current products, including price negotiations, placing/chasing purchase orders and organising deliveries.

Liaise with Head Office staff to organise weekly call-offs from allocated stock. Depot 30 low stock & transfer pick list / boat list.

Achieve sales and profitability targets as agreed by Senior Buying team.

Develop selected ranges in line with market trends to deliver optimum commercial benefit,

Evaluate competitor activity and analyse effect on current and future trade, taking appropriate action.

Assist staff/management with all merchandising issues.

Assist the management in the organising of the Marketing & Advertising strategy including seasonal/occasional promotions, sale periods/discounted lines and charity PR work.

Manage Seasonal buying plans to maximise sales and minimise markdowns.

Review changes in merchandise with Retail management, agreeing actions in a timely manner.

The Website

Respond to and follow up email queries arising from the Chapel website.

Monitor stock to ensure availability

Update website with new stock and ensure descriptions are accurate.

Remove stocks that are slow sellers and place in sale.

The main purpose of the role is to sourcee and negotiate new suppliers and product ranges for the retail outlet. You will need to be a driver with your own transport for this role as the two sites are Harlow and Braintree and you will have to visit them both.
