This includes working closely with the CEO and COO to help devise and implement the talent strategy throughout the full employee life-cycle from recruitment marketing, selection, induction through to performance management, learning and development, reward and recognition, talent management and succession planning. The recruitment, development and retention of top talent is key to the business strategy and the HR Manager will be at the fo refront of HR initiatives that help make this a reality.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning & Development:
- Devise, co-ordinate and publicise training programme, managing the budget and providing reconciliations to finance
- Manage and monitor attendance. Collate feedback from sessions and prepare quarterly feedback/attendance report
Recruitment:
- Main point of contact for all recruitment consultancies, agreeing terms and monitoring preferred supplier agreements
- Direct advertising and sourcing (website, facebook, twitter, linkedin etc) as well as regular networking and speculative interviewing to build our direct bank of talent
- Manage the interview process, booking times, ensuring feedback is given in a timely manner, as well as conducting 1st round screening interviews for all direct candidates and attendance at other interviews when required
- Administration of offer letters /contracts, reference request
Grad/In tern Scheme:
- Co-ordinate our September 2012 grad intake training scheme
- Co-ordinate intern programme and work experience
Induction:
- Manage induction process for both perm and freelance staff, updating presentations and information regularly
Performance Management:
- Ensure job descriptions and competencies accurately reflect roles and provide training to staff on how to use the job descriptions
- Assign line managers and provide advice and support to them
- Manage appraisal process for all staff, coaching and advising managers
- Manage promotion and payrise schedule and succession planning process
Reward:
- Manage payroll
- Administer childcare voucher scheme, pensions, Life Insurance and Private Healthcare joiners and leavers
- Administer the incentive scheme and review to ensure it is motivating and incentivising staff to live the values
CSR:
- Provide support for committees en suring momentum for their initiatives
Database/Reporting:
- Maintain HR database and personnel files
- Provide information for monthly Board report
Employee Relations:
- Proactive intervention re health and wellbeing of employees to promote retention
- Maintain a professional yet approachable manner. Ability to deal with demanding employees, in a calm and sympathetic manner. Ensure visibility on the shop-floor to ensure approachability and understanding of pressures across the business
- Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to the Board
- Best Companies survey annually, analyse results and provide recommendations
- Produce and maintain all policies, contracts and practices in line with current employment law
- Advise maternity leavers and returnees
- Manage disciplinary and grievance processes and TUPE in line with current employment law
- Ensure internal comms are consistent with vision & value s
- Manage the HR area of the Intranet
- Advise on appropriate people/HR awards
- Manage staff survey and peer group feedback sessions and provide recommendations
Person Specification:
- Experience of managing the HR function in a media/creative agency environment
- Preferably CIPD qualified with experience of managing employee relations issues through to conclusion
- Excellent communications skills with an open and approachable style
- Shows an optimistic, positive attitude and make things happen
- Provides a model of delivering on promises and completing tasks on time
- Helps to make decisions promptly, using good judgement. Demonstrates the ability to consolidate, compromise, clarify, support, conclude
- Behaves with integrity and set the standards of behaviour for the company
- Has an inquisitive mind - questions the way things are done and strives to do them better
