We are currently advertising foranhave an IT Support Technician to join our client inCardiffCentre to work on a6 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

The successful candidate will have:-

A good understanding of Windows XP & Windows 7

Previous experience of Using Microsoft Office

Experience installing/setting upPCs

Experience installing/setting upPrinters

Knowledge of networking

Basic knowledge of PC hardware and components

Good communication skills are essential along with the ability to work well in a team environment.

Duties and responsibilities for this role will include:-

Providing 1stand 2ndline IT support.Assisting in IT Department projects.Answering telephone calls made to the ICT Helpdesk. Whenever possible providing solutions over the telephone or via remote desktop, or if necessary visiting the user's workstation, or asking an alternative member of the support team to assist. Please note the teamprovide support for two Cardiff sites. Provide IT support quickly and efficiently, keeping users informed of any problems that may delay the provision of a solution.Ensure all users are able to use IT equipment, and if necessary, provide training.Installation of programs andcustomisingsoftware to suit users needs.Setting up IT hardware, includingPC's, printers, scanners and any other relevant equipment.Assisting in office moves.Provide support to colleagues in the team to maintain telephone handsets and the telephone network in Cardiff office.

The successful candidate will have a high level of IT literacy, be fully conversant in Office 2007 and be able to demonstrate working with various computing platforms and applications.

A professional approach is required when dealing with support issues along with good communication skills. You will need to beorganisedin your approach and have the ability toprioritiseuser problems in line with their urgency. Prior experience in this type of role is required.Beneficial but not essential is a computing qualification GCSE or higher or any Microsoft Certified Professional qualifications
