Senior Mechanical Design Enginner - London

My Client is an Award Winning Multidisciplinary Consultancy; they are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to be based in their Central London Office. You will be working alongside and taking briefs from the Principal/Associate Engineers, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. Whatever stage of a project you are i nvolved in, you will respond to our clients needs with initiative and enthusiasm with the aim to deliver beyond expectations. It is this approach that ensures we maintain the quality standards that we pride ourselves on. Whether you are developing and producing reports, specifications and guidance or overseeing testing and commissioning activities, we work closely as a team to ensure we achieve the best results.

The successful candidate will be expected to have the ability to run medium/large sized projects and have the skills and experience to undertake a client facing role in the development,design and co-ordination of engineering projects.

The successful engineer would need to demonstrate experience in a wide range of project types and systems and be familiar with industry standards.
It is expected that you will possess good commercial awareness and technical knowledge relevant to building services design, industry standards and capable of incorpora ting those technologies into any project.

The engineer should be educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years industry experience and chartered or working towards chartered status.

The engineer should demonstrate their activities in developing their professional status from the following:

Low Carbon Consultant
Qualified to issue Energy Performance Certificates
Air Conditioning Inspector

This role will further encompass:
Survey, tests and reports on existing installations
Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams
and contractors teams
Undertaken engineering calculations using Cymap/Hevacomp or equivalent software.
Responsible for technical performance of others including trainee, graduates and
engineers

Furthermore you will need to possess the following professional and technical expertise:
Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
Knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation
Knowledge of MS Office applications - word, excel, etc
Thorough understanding of British Standards
Ability to prioritise own workload
Ability to work to tight deadlines
