We are currently looking for an experiencedRegistered General Nurse to join our expanding laser eye surgery and IOL business. As the RGN the role is a Mobile one although you will be based mainly in Birmingham.This is an exciting opportunity for an RGN to work in an exclusively private, superbly equipped refractive surgery clinics alongside excellent support staff. As the Registered Nurse you will manage the clinical team to deliver a World class service to our Patients.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities of a RGN:

Delivery of a world class patient experienceEnsuring that all patients proceeding to surgery are well informed as to potential risks and complications as indicated on signed consent formEvaluate patient suitability, recognise suitability criteria, liase with Patient Counsellors and Optometrists in order to recommend a course of actionEnsure all patients are discharged from surgery with the appropriate prescribed medication and advice, including emergency contact numbers and follow up care has been arrangedAssist surgeon during procedures, which will include undertaking role of scrub assistantEnsure that the Surgery Technician is prepared, the laser is safe to operate, all instrumentation and machinery is suitably decontaminated, cleaned and sterilised as appropriateHave excellent knowledge of the policies and procedures relating to the care of the patient and the safe operating environmentTo be aware of the clinics responsibility to the EHSSB, including having the knowledge of what constitutes a reportable occurrenceHighlight to the surgeon and all operating staff of the need to abandon a procedure or all procedures during of the course of session or to advise against a course of the prescribed action if it is known or believed that in so following the prescribed course of action, the safety of the patient or of the operating staff would be jeopardisedTo comply with NMCs Professional Code of conductEnsure that the administration of medication is carried out following the NMCs guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

You must be a Registered General Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registrationGood mobility and willingness to travel Prior surgery/theatre experience is preferredExcellent communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsMeticulous attention to detail
