We have an opportunity for a Java / J2EE Developer to join a leading global provider of outsourced business solutions. These solutions help their customers to integrate best practices, technology, and information to improve efficiency, performance and profitability.

The Java / J2EE Developer will be working within a motivated team to push forward the development of a range of key strategic, enterprise scale platforms. These platforms are primarily built on a Java stack, with Oracle databases using a variety of open source technologies.

This is a hands-on role with a definite coding bias that will also require the candidate to undertake overseas travel on occasions.

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Hold a good degree or Masters in Computer Science, e-commerce or a related subject Experience within a similar position Strong Java programming skills Good exposure to J2EE Application servers (JBoss, Websphere, WebLogic, Glassfish etc)Good knowledge of RDBMS Servers (ideally Oracle)The ability to confidently and clearly communicate complex technical information to colleagues.Interest in design methodologies , software patterns etcStrong understanding of object-oriented programming.Good team player, creative and proactive.Capable of working under occasional pressure, comfortable about working to tight timing deadlines.Willing to adjust to occasional flexible working arrangements within an agreed framework in order to meet the needs of the business.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Experience of working within an Agile EnvironmentExperience of working in a lead or project management roleDesirable technologies Java Swing, JMS, Relational Mapping Tools (e.g. Hibernate, Spring), Build Tools (Maven , Ant), Rules Engines, Data Mining, OLAPS, PLSQL programming skills
