Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical bias)
My client is a UK leading manufacturer and is part of an international group.
They are now looking for a time served electrician with a systematic approach to problem solving and experience in a heavy industrial environment to undertake planned maintenance and fault finding activities.
In their 24 hour a day production plant, you will apply your skills to the maintenance of a wide range of foundry process and handling equipment which is either plc or relay logic controlled. The proactive diagnosis, monitoring and assessment of plant effectiveness will also form part of this interesting and highly responsible role.
It is essential that your ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines is combined with a great deal of initiative and experience of root cause analysis.
Qualifications required to fulfil the role:
- Completed an Electrical Maintenance/Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- Successfully completed formal training in Hydraulic and or Pneumatic systems eg. CETOP/BFPA Level 1 or equivalent.
Specific Work Experience required to fulfil the role:
- At least 4 years' experience within an industrialised manufacturing environment
- Familiar with organisational safety requirements e.g. Isolation & Permit's To Work.
- Using and interpreting engineering data.
- Bench fitting, basic workshop machining,.
- Sound knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and fault find from Electrical circuit drawings.
- Trained against the Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Competent to work safely on electrical tasks, e.g. the installation of conduits, cable trays, armoured cables. Fault finding and testing on live circuits.
- Experience of working in a World Class Maintenance Department.
- Competent user of M.S. Office applications & familiar with the requirements of a CMMS
You will be working an average of 40 hours per week over the four week shift pattern, however a certain degree of flexibility is required:
Skilled grade of 25,000 or 27,000 (with potential to work to higher grade) per annum (scale dependent upon skill level) + overtime & profit bonus, stakeholder pension scheme and life assurance, share purchase schemes, plus 33 days holiday (including 8 days statutory holiday).
