Description of role:

Duties include the testing of our back-office systems and sales platform websites. You will work closely with developers, project managers and clients to provide confidence in our systems and ensure that software releases are fit for purpose.

The following areas of testing will form part of the role:

General testing - to ensure applications work to specification and are defect-free

Regression testing to ensure existing functionality still works when a change is made

Compatibility testing testing that our websites work across different operating systems and internet browsers

Performance testing to determine the speed & effectiveness of our applications

Integration testing to ensure that end-to-end processes across different systems work correctly

Main Duties

Aiding with the development of testing scripts to ensure test conditions are satisfied for any given project. This will involve understanding the specifications provided by the client along with the solution implemented by developers.Interpreting and executing tests using agreed methods and standards.Ensuring that test failures and successes are recorded in the appropriate way Reporting test results to managers & colleagues in a clear and concise mannerAssisting other members of the Applications Development team to improve software functionality and performance.Assisting senior members of the team on larger projects.Ensuring that activities are logged daily on our project management system.Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

Enthusiasm and ability to familiarise yourself with new systems quickly Should be methodical and thorough with a good attention to detailAbility to think outside the box Experience of testing applications (either professionally or during academic studies)

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent to include Mathematics and English
