My client is looking for a strong Manager to drive the garage and engineering operations of this Northampton based Haulage and Logistics business. They offer excellent earnings potential and the opportunity to take full P&L responsibility for the department. JOB SPECIFICATION:

My client is looking at moving the Engineering and Workshop team forward in terms of quality of service delivery and development of services. Working in tandem with the fleet manager you will take full responsibility for the Day to Day management of the Engineering team consisting of 4 Mechanics, 1 Trailer Fitter and a part-time Mechanic (all fully trained). You will have full P&L responsibility for the department and will be the driving force behind a change in direction for the business. The medium to long term goal is to produce an Engineering department that becomes a profit centre in itself by expanding the services available beyond that of maintaining the companies own fleet of vehicles. You may be currently working as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Engineering Manager, Chief Mechanic.

REQUIREMENTS: Head of Engineering, Workshop Manager - HGV Haulage

You will have a proven track record of managing a team of fully trained mechanics and will have experience of working with heavy vehicles whether it be HGVs, Agricultural Vehicles or Construction Vehicles. Essentially they are looking for experience of working with both large diesel engines and hydraulics systems. You need to have a the ability to manage the departments day to day activities and drive the department forward introducing changes to working environment and services. Ideally you will be managing an Engineering team for a logistics / haulage company or managing an in house fleet team.
