We are looking for a Functional Skills Team Leader.The role of the Functional Skills Team Leader is wide ranging and includes in its broadest sense responsibility for the delivery and management of the programmes, assigned contracts and related activities including: Curriculum knowledge, employer and sector skills council relationships, awarding body and qualifications research, and dissemination of research to teams and individuals, shari ng ideas with peer providers and peers within partner organisations, staff support, mentoring and training, team teaching, taking part in the management of observation programmes and learner support.Managing the assigned projects and the related process for their delivery will be critical to the success of your role.This role is initially a fixed term contract for the next 3 months 1 day / 7 hours per week but can be flexible.

To work with Vocational Manager in the implementation of functional skills programmesTo work with existing projects and to ensure they are delivered within time constraints To ensure systems are maintained keeping accurate records relating to the delivery of courses Be conversant about and support the delivery of the overall vocational learning strategy, by contributing to curriculum development, planning and delivery of functional skillsTo support monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the courses and the achievement of targets through the management of the courses that constitute the programmesWork with the Manager of Vocational Learning to maintain effective relationships with appropriate stakeholdersand develop links with individual organisations and networks of organisations including employers, statutory and awarding bodies, borough based networks and sector skills councils Carry out appropriate research with awarding bodies and sector skills councilsAttend local and borou gh meetings and networks with other training providers and use these action learning sets to reflect and cascade to the wider learning teamTo ensure systems are maintained and that accurate records relating to individuals are kept in relation to all relevant documentation and administration procedures including monitoring the course checkers, including the tracking of the progression Collect and manage relevant data and information essential to the monitoring requirements for the Centres QIA and information systems, by keeping records of and monitor and track candidates progress

Qualifications / Requirements:

Teaching Qualifications minimum of PTTLS or equivalent.Proven experience of successfully delivering functional skills programmesExperience of teaching and training in the post 16 sectorProven project development and management experience (3 years or more), delivering complex learning projects to contract specifications and targets, including partnership and cross- sector working with multi-disciplinary project teamsExperience of developing and maintaining systems to collate, analyse and produce management information
