We are currently seeking an interim Business Development Manager for a period of 6months. This will be for 1 or 2 days per week depends on availability. This will be discussed during an interview.
Please note you can be based anywhere in UK, this is ahomebased position.
The purpose of this job is to execute expansion tactics to help the business to grow, by managing the sales and marketing of our services in such a way as to identify new business partners and customers, and build strong relationships with the partners and customers.
Key responsibilities
To sell our contract research services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and CROs companies
To acquire an extensive comprehension of present market trends and developments
To develop strategic ideas or proposals to make the company successful and increase revenue
To develop action plans that maximise opportunities to develop the company business
To assist in the business development plan
To be able to identify industry openings, and be an expert negotiators
To gather and analyze available market trends, competitive activity, market application experience and changing customer needs to help identify new opportunities
To develop customer awareness of the business services and identify new business partners and customers worldwide and update tracking system with clients contact details
To select and implement CRM system
To network with clients or customers
To develop company commercial presentation
To conduct presentation of new proposals, negotiate and make deals
To provide regular reports regarding performance
To attend appropriate conferences where required:be able to advertise the company during conferences
Qualifications and Experience
It is essential that you have solid experience in the sales of service and business development for 5 years minimum
You must be fluent in English and being able to speak another European language is a distinct advantage.
You are also likely to have a technical background with Knowledge of drug development process plus Experience and Extensive knowledge of the clinical trial process
You must be able to demonstrate clear commercial awareness, combining marketing, selling and purchasing expertise with strategic, tactical and analytical thinking
Be familiar with the CRM system is a plus
Excellent methodical, tactical, and sales skills
The business development activity requires the jobholder to be innovative using their experience to identify and deliver new opportunities to include the market research projects
Proven networking skills - must be able to network with client organizations and other service providers.Ideally, you have a strong network for this job
Flexible and adaptable, with strong customer management skills, you must be highly responsive whilst maintaining strategic direction
Capable of contributing to the strategic direction of the business and able to work with the director to achieve business objectives
Good communication skills both internally and externally. Ability to understand clients requirements and to be able to devise and articulate the most appropriate solutions
You should be able to work on your own initiative
You should be able to work in a small company environment
Professionalism: you must be focused in quality and achieving results and be goal orientated
You should be passionate and an energetic professional
Computer literate
Full driving license preferable
