We are seeking an experienced Senior Desktop / Field Services Engineer for the Xchanging Technology organisation to build, manage, install and support, PC, laptops, software and Peripherals.

Key Accountabilities;

* To build, manage, install and support, PC, laptops, software and Peripherals.

* To provide call management and physical IT support to users.

* To carry out systems administration tasks on Windows Servers and desktop equipment

* To provide desktop support to Users.

* To assist as required with Technical advice contributing to the definition of corporate standard hardware, Software and Procedures.

* To assist with the Scoping and delivery of projects

* To monitor and report on team workload and ensure that it is distributed evenly.

* To monitor and report on technician time management within the team.

* Assist with the development of junior staff as re quired and provide colleagues with advice on areas of expertise where appropriate.


Your skills and qualifications will ideally include the following:

5yrs+ Desktop and hardware support
Predominantly 2nd Line Support with some 3rd line experience
Windows 7 support and Admin experience - certification a plus
MS Office 2010 - as above
Networking experience a bonus
Some Systems Administration
Active directory knowledge
Documentation skills both Technical and process based
Excellent interpersonal skills - able to work confidently with all levels of staff including senior management.
Must be customer focussed, can do, and highly professional
Flexible attitude to working unsociable hours as dictated by the needs of the business

Very desirable
* Wide area networking - Firewall and VPN technology
* A good understanding of the current Xchanging infrastructure
* Relevant technical certification or equivalent experience
* Prince2, ITIL Foundation level
