Revenue Protection Inspectors,, Pitsea Part-time (Ref.ck90)

Keeping Our Passengers On Track

Here at c2c, we operate to the highest standards. In 2011, we broke industry-wide records for train punctuality and we hold one of the highest National Passenger Survey scores in the UK. We achieve these incredible results on a large scale. Last year, we dispatched 110,000 trains for the 29.6 million passenger journeys across our network. All of this requires a huge team effort to ensure that our passengers enjoy a safe and efficient entire journey experience, but it is our Revenue Protection Inspectors who are key in ensuring that the organisation and fare-paying customers are protected financially. We are looking for enthusiastic Revenue Protection Inspectors, with some experience of keeping revenue protection on track, who are skilled in customer liaison and will ensure that Nobody Tries Harder to be an ambassador for c2c in delivering the highest standards of customer service.

The role is certainly varied and interesting, where two days will rarely be the same. You might be issuing tickets, applying the penalty fare scheme or report writing. You will need to be able to provide a proactive and customer-focused approach to fare evasion by targeting hotspot fare evasion locations, whilst also dealing with anti social behaviour and trespass issues.

Relationship management will be a key part of your role as you will interface with passengers, challenge fare evaders in a professional and safe manner and liaise with the British Transport Police and other external stakeholders. Your ability to analyse a situation, develop effective relationships, remain calm and focussed under pressure and make the right decision in dealing with often difficult people and situations in a busy environment will be key to your ongoing success.

The role will also include assisting with case management, report-writing, holding interviews and attending court. Therefore, youll need excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills coupled with outstanding communications skills both written and verbal. You will have outstanding planning and organisational skills and a rigorous and methodical approach to working. You will be a driven and highly motivated, tenacious individual who makes things happen under your own initiative, is passionate about what you do and settle only for achieving at the highest standards.

There will be some training where required but you will be able to impress us immediately with your expertise in enforcement or customer liaison, ideally in rail or another multi-site commercial environment. Knowledge of consumer law or penalty enforcement would provide you with a distinct advantage but a commitment to learning and working as part of the team to protect both the organisation and our customers will be essential and drive you to deliver unfailingly to only the highest standards.

So, if you want to make your mark in a top performing company where safety, the customer, the community and our people are at the very heart of our business, then please get in touch.

Closing date: 28th June 2012.
