HR / Health and Safety Officer
We are looking for an experienced HR / Health and Safety Officer for our client based in Coventry. This leading organisation in the engineering industry is rapidly expanding and therefore requires a driven, committed and career minded individual to successfully fulfil this role.
This unique position incorporates both HR policies as well as shop floor practices.
Candidates need to have a strong background in either HR or engineering and be willing to learn all other aspects of the job. Whilst support and training will be provided you need to possess initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will need to possess excellent communication and mediation skills. The ability to remain calm is essential as this can often be a high pressured and intense environment to work within. You will also need to posses good time management skills as a strong presence on the shop floor will be required along with the maintenance and development of current HR policies. The client is looking for a dedicated individual who will go out of there way to exceed job expectations.
Main duties:
-Implementing HR policies inline with company practice
-General administration
-Assisting with recruitment
-Assisting in business development
-Carrying out risk assessments
-Shop appraisals / discipline
-Continuous floor walks and risk assessments
-Developing and implementing health and safety procedures
-Liaising with both day and night supervisors
Contracted hours are 38 however this role requires somebody who will go above and beyond regular hours. 4850 hours is considered to be a weekly average.
Day shifts Monday Saturday. However flexibility is essential; you may be required to start earlier or stay later in order to liaise with night supervisors where necessary.
Hourly or annual salary negotiable.
