Our client has a contract vacancy for a Design Engineer within the Compact Wheeloader Engineering Team at their facility in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will be working on improvements to current production models and the development of new products.
Job DescriptionThe Engineer will have a varied and exciting role creating new designs from concept through to detailed design ensuring the parts are validated and meet the functional requirements.
The candidate will be responsible for the production release of the parts and expected to work with suppliers to ensure the parts can be manufactured and meet the cost and quality targets.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible and be able to work on multiple areas of the machine i.e. structural fabrications, non-metallic components & cab interior.
Critical to the success of the role will be an enthusiastic attitude showing the initiative to solve engineering problems and be able to work to tight deadlines.
As part of this role, communication with other design centres will be required for worldwide design collaboration.
QualificationsMachine engineering design experience.
Computer literate with Pro-E CAD engineering skills
Experience in designing structural fabrications & non-metallic components.
Knowledge and experience of problem solving analysis.
Knowledge of engineering processs, drawing standards, specifications, and Teamcentre workflow is desirable.
Experience of Off highway equipment or other heavy machinery
Ability to self direct but also work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Engineering / Science Degree or equivalent industry experience
