Assistant Accountant
Kier Services Limited is currently seeking an Assistant Accountant for our Facilities Management service.
This role will be based in PFI Finance Team located in Cardiff.
The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Accountant PFI who is responsible for the PFI sector of Kier Services FM.
PFI has a total turnover of nearly 25million generated from 26 contracts. There are various contracts within Health, Education and Local Authority in England and Wales.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor and report on cost and revenue budget variances for all the PFI and LIFT contracts as well two FM contracts.
Upload all the contract budgets in financial system - COINS.
Liaise with contract managers and ensure that revenue costs including salaries are correctly coded in line with contract budgets.
Prepare monthly and daily journals and accruals and uploading into COINS.
Monitor Leisure income and costs to ensure that cash and VAT accounting adjustments are correctly posted.
Reconcile utility and catering costs and recharges and generate accruals as required.
Continue to monitor COINS reports and liaise with IT and ensure any anomalies or required developments are carried out whilst maintaining COINS standing data for the PFI contracts.
Manage the month end process for PFI contracts and liaise with contract managers to ensure deadlines are adhered to.
Provide support to the Commercial Accountant PFI during the month end finance reviews and conference calls.
Assist with the Budgeting process and quarterly reforcasts at the quarter ends.
Provide cover for annual leave for the Commercial Accountant PFI and PFI Accounts Assistant, and carry out any other duties as requested by the Commercial Accountant PFI.
Assist and develop the PFI Accounts Assistant.
Provide information as requested by the PFI contract managers.
Various Balance sheet reconciliations.
Any other Ad hoc requests that arise from the Finance and Operational Director, operation manager as required. Attend various sites to assist with any issues that the managers require assistance with.
Ensuring that all sales invoices are indexed and issued in line with the contractual requirements of the contracts.
The Individual/Requirements:
Previous experience within a similar role
ACCA qualified or part qualified.
Good working knowledge and competent with Excel and IT systems.
A team player.
Good communication skills.
