Managing the internal quality assurance of assessment practices to ensure the successful delivery of qualifications in optimum time scales. Ensure consistent and reliable assessment decisions, by sampling assessment decisions and practice, standardising assessment judgements and sharing best practice identified. Developing and supporting assessors.
Key Accountabilities:
Plan and carry out appropriate levels of internal quality assurance activity on your allocated assessors/areas of competence and maintain all relevant documentation and records on an ongoing basis. Inform Admin to apply for certificates upon successful IQA activity on an ongoing basis. Prepare monthly summaries of qualification passes and deferrals for the IQA Manager. Monitor and prepare a report for the IQA Manager on the progress of all learners, by Assessor and qualification through internal quality assurance activity on a monthly basis. Ensure all assessments are carried out in line with the qualification assessment strategy, awarding organisation requirements and their 'Code of Practice' where such exists. Monitor that learners are registered for the appropriate components of their qualifications within the required timescales. Monitor the compliance against awarding organisations requirements for external assessments including online and paper based test invigilation practices ensuring appropriate records are maintained. Participate in External Quality Assurance visits and feedback the results to assessors. Aid the IQA Manager in any resultant action points within the required timescales, updating your line manager and other necessary personnel of progress. Assist in carrying out individual and group training on assessment practices when the need is identified keeping accurate and up to date records of such training. Ensure all training and support supplied is recorded by the individual on their CPD plan and record and feedback provided to the individuals' line manager. Plan and organise relevant standardisation activities across occupational areas on an annual basis and more frequently should the need be identified. React to and implement changes in respect of revisions to qualifications/frameworks and/or delivery requirements. Ensure annual observations of assessment is planned and carried out on those Assessors under your remit in line with the company IQA strategy and individual Assessors' needs. Participate in quality assurance meetings to continuously develop and improve IQA practice, systems, and procedures and agree a standardised approach to IQA activities. Ensure staff are supported through training and development activities to achieve relevant qualifications within agreed timescales as requested. Monitor countersigning activities for those assessors who are unqualified. Develop and maintain good working relationships with learners and employers during external visits. Collect and report back on any feedback (complaints and compliments) that could lead to improvements in the service provided to them to the relevant Manager. Contribute to the Self-Assessment of local provision you are involved with in line with the company Continuous Improvement Strategy. Ensure relevant involvement in any resultant development activity or plans. Assist in the updating and development of training materials, resources and manuals as and when requested. Attend appropriate external events as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Lead IQA. Keep your own occupational competence up to date and in doing so be prepared to undertake professional qualifications and maintain your own CPD record and plan. A1 or D32/D33 qualification or latest version of these awards V1 or D34 qualification or latest version of these awards GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Math and EnglishSkills and Experience
Recent appropriate internal verification/quality assurance experience in relation to Apprenticeship delivery Proven experience within a similar role with the ability to organise and prioritise work in line with targets Good inter-personal communication skills and the ability to carry out presentations to individuals and small groups Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work flexibly both independently and as a member of a team Good administration and IT skillsOther
Willingness and ability to travel nationally as and when required.
