What we are looking for: A bright graduate with a background/interest in the farming sector. If you have a strong academic record (at least a 2:1 degree classification in any subject and 300 UCAS points), accomplished communication and financial reasoning skills and a tendency to consider the clients and organisations behind the numbers, wed like to hear from you.

The role: To provide support to managers and partners by carrying out accounts and tax return preparation, including audit procedures where required, in addition to training for a chartered accountancy qualification. As you progress, you will begin to manage your own portfolio of clients, review work of junior staff, etc. The main responsibilities of the role will include (but not be limited to):
-Annual accounts preparation using data provided by clients,
-Preparation of tax returns and tax computations,
-Varied client work as requested by managers,
-Assisting on project work, family business restructuring and advisory work,
-Auditing of company accounts when required,
-Ensuring deadlines are met and issues/difficulties arising brought to the attention of senior team members,
-Assisting with general administrative duties as directed,
-Entering for exams and completing coursework for ACA qualification
-Keeping informed of developments via technical reading, lectures, courses etc
-Personal development via on the job training.
Skills you will employ:
-Planning/organisation: to prioritise workload according to the firms needs and communicate this to Managers
-Working to budgets: being mindful of/responsible for adhering to the budget for the work you are carrying out
-Team working
-Initiative: to make proactive suggestions to provide the client with a premium service
-Following instruction - the ability to follow and understand technical commands and adhere to policies
-Presentation: to produce work to a professional standard at all times
-Flexibility: to adapt and work effectively in a variety of situations and readily accept change
-Analytical thinking: to simplify complex problems or processes and evaluate them
-Awareness: to think about what you are producing and why, and question if necessary
-Confidentiality: to understand the need for confidentiality when dealing with a range of clients
-Communication: ability to represent the firm in a clear and professional manner at all times
-IT skills: must be adept in the use of Microsoft Office. Competence in Accounting/Tax software would be an advantage but training will be provided.
