Annual Salary ranges from 16,830 - 21,519 pro rata

A Children's Contact Team Advisor is required for the Initial Response Team based in Colchester. The Initial Response Team are a critical part at the front door of Children's Social Care. Advisor's take calls from professionals, members of the public, children & young people reporting concerns for a child in need or at risk of significant harm.

The post will involve gathering information, providing advice as necessary and ,with the support of experienced qualified staff, determine whether further enquiries/ actions are required by a Social Worker.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Good general level of education, including English and Mathematics at GCSE grade A - C, or demonstrably equivalent abilities.Customer Service NVQ or equivalent experience/abilityEuropean Computer Driving License (ECDL) or equivalent experience/abilityExperience of working in a local authority setting and/or Customer Services role.Experience of communicating by telephone and electronically recording information.Working in a setting with direct customer contact.Giving information and advice to customers by telephone.Knowledge and experience of administrative and clerical processes.Detailed knowledge and working experience of IT systems including Word and a customer database.Awareness of Health & Safety at work
