Full Time - 37 hours per week

This is a demanding role that will lead the partnership management and development with the Council's most strategic supplier(s) and their supply chain(s).

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the partnership arrangements continuously improve to drive service and cost benefit and that strategic performance is managed appropriately. Equally, the postholder will need to take a strategic view of the business opportunities available through the contract and develop and deliver in conjunction with the partner supplier a business development strategy to benefit both parties. The role will include managing the annual business planning process from a commercial perspective working alongside technical and performance colleagues to deliver a plan to drive additional value through the arrangement.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A demonstrable track record of managing multi-million pound outsourced services or strategic contracts in a large, dynamic, fast moving, complex, business critical environment. This should include the ability to define, measure and improve key elements of supplier performance.Track record in delivering continuous improvement in large, strategic partnership arrangements resulting in significant cost and service benefits.Comprehensive negotiation skills appropriate to multi million pound contracts.Experience in identifying and delivering business development opportunities and managing the commercial process around this.Experience in developing and delivering against annual business plans.Extensive knowledge of market and legislation specific to the category area and its influence on service and business development (to develop in the role).Extensive knowledge of contract law and implementing contracts and supply agreementsThorough understanding of public sector compliance rules and is seen as a valued source of advice on compliance options and risks of non-compliance (to develop in the role)Extensive knowledge of current legislation within specific category area and its impact on market management, finance and contractual arrangements (to develop in the role).
