Director of Collections Board Position

POSITION

The Director of Collections, Board position, is responsible for the overall P & L and service performance of the Collections department

Billion dollar global retailer expanding in UK. Locations is flexible, and will be some travel involved

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Deliver exceptional results by providing strategic direction and objective analysis for all business processes related to collections.Create P & L positive initiatives, plan, execute and measure benefitsManage costs and budget positive to planMonitor performance and report status within areas of responsibilityResponsible for evaluation, implementation and continuous improvement of all collections & contact strategies Leadership abilities range from being able to lead from the front as a Coach to being able to nurture and develop Senior Operations Managers to operating as a key stakeholder within the UK business entity.Prepare and deliver performance reviews to the UK boardTake on role of either customer or performer within a project management framework in order to contribute to various projects/initiatives as they relate to the core business internal and external to collections.Continue to evolve operational standards, department goals, performance measures and controls to create and maintain high levels of transparency and process efficiency.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Educated to degree level Minimum 10 years of equivalent work experience in a Senior Collections / Operations leadership role in a call centre environmentPrevious experience with direct accountability for P & L performance / write off planExcellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Possesses strong skills in presentation as well as both oral and written communications.Ability to manage, lead, coach and inspireProven ability to develop and achieve aggressive results.Ability to set up and maintain department and/or corporate policies.Ability to view business from detail and strategic levels to be proactive and an effective problem solver.Strong working knowledge of computers, and software such as Excel and Word.Knowledge of applicable compliance and quality regulations within UK collections market.Previous experience as a Head of Collections, Head of Debt Recovery, Director of Collections, Director of Debt Recovery, or other Collections leadership is preferred.
