PepsiCo is looking for a Front Line Manager (FLM) to join the Walkers team at our Bursom Road manufacturing site.

The Walkers Bursom Road manufacturing site is a key part of the Walkers portfolio producing a wide range of our Walkers snacks and crisps. It's an exciting time to join this busy site as we are going through a time of change and investment.

Our FLM's manage our front line teams in our factories, warehouses and depots and are responsible for how we make and move our products. As a business we are committed to recruiting, training and retaining the best talent.

Our production lines work day and night at PepsiCo, so we're always on the lookout for well-organised, technically minded people managers to keep things on track. You'll always get the best out of your team, as you'll coach, inspire and motivate 30 plus people - including technicians and operators - ensuring the same high standards of production after dark as during the day.

Key Accountabilities:

Manage, lead and develop front line employees ensuring they have the skills they need to do the job.Coach and engage front line employees to ensure they perform to an acceptable standard and operate in accordance with site environmental systems.Manage against standards, making appropriate use of disciplinary process to improve poor performance and using recognition programmes to reward over and above performance.Use communication to engage and motivate your team, adapting your communication style as appropriate.Drive a strong team working environment by setting clear expectations on how the team need to work together to improve performance.Build and maintain in-depth understanding of the manufacturing plant, understanding the site process, key bottlenecks and opportunity areas.Build a strong network inside and outside the site and use the contacts to leverage best practice.Leverage the skills of the total site team, making effective use of support functions and accessing expertise in other shift teams in order to generate total site solutions to issues.Ensure compliance to all systems to eliminate accidents and prevent sub-standard product reaching the customer.

What you'll need:

Educated to degree level or of degree calibre.Management and leadership experience, with a proven management style focused on coaching and mentoring.Experience of leading a large team.Experience of working within a food manufacturing company and an understanding of lean manufacturing would be an advantage.Understanding of continuous improvement.Assertive, independent and self-sufficient, with the ability to cope effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task.The ability to liaise confidently and assertively at all levels within the Company.Influencing skills to win credibility with other FLMs and front line employees.Data driven with excellent analytical skills and the ability to drive performance against SLA.

This role comes with a range of flexible benefits, and a base salary in the region of 36,000 to 40,000 plus shift premium.
