The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is our highest priority. In this role you will formulate our strategy and lead a national team to deliver a safe and healthy working environment across the organisation.
The team
As a key member of the Health, Safety and Environment Leadership team, you will work in partnership with colleagues throughout the organisation, providing advice and leading the implementation of national initiatives to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues.
You will also lead a team of health, safety and wellbeing professionals to provide a first-class customer focused service that supports the organisation.
The role will be based in Horizon House, Bristol although there will be substantial national travel
About you
Experience/skills required
To succeed in this role you will need to have the following experience and skills:
be a Chartered Safety Practitioner or have an equivalent professional qualification combined with experience of managing professional experts to deliver a technical and professional service; experience of health, safety and wellbeing in a wide variety of different activities; with the ability to demonstrate and communicate the latest knowledge and thinking on health, safety and wellbeing practices; the confidence and competence to successfully manage significant business risks and the reputation of the organisation; the ability to develop and influence relationships at all levels both internally and externally, e.g. with the Health and Safety Executive, DEFRA and other external partners; a strategic mindset with the ability to translate strategy into action that is in-line with corporate goals; be able to perform as part of a leadership team setting direction and priorities.
