The main goal of the HR shared service centre is to provide service excellence at a competitive cost to all customers including those in corporate offices and those at Ealing schools.

The payroll officer will be working within the payroll and pensions team in the HR shared service centre alongside four other payroll officersto assist in the delivery of a monthly payroll, paying approximately 15,000 people made up of employees, pensioners and third party customers, using Midlands iTrent HR and payroll system.

The ideal candidate should have detailed knowledge and understanding of all Local Government Terms and Conditions and Teachers Pay and Conditions, including pensions, and an in depth knowledge of all statutory and legislative provisions.Previous experience of using iTrent would also be advantageous.

To be successful you must be passionate about customer service with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to establish credibility within the council and with its customer base and suppliers.alsIn addition you must have the ability to analyse a wide variety of information using standard IT packages such as Excel. Confidence, flexibility, tenacity, ability to work to tight deadlines and ambition to assist the HR shared service centre in delivering its business objectives are a pre-requisite.
